BioDomUs

Involved researchers

BioDomUs has the objective to develop a demonstrative domestic unit for the cogeneration of electrical and thermal power from domestic stoves by the use of a thermodynamic engine Stirling (mRT-k1 design). Active partners of the project are FBK (coordinator), ELMA and VESCOVI STOVE. Important contribution will come from Sustainable Engine Systems and Alan J. Organ, a world renewed Stirling engine developer.

Goals:

The project aims to the realization of a system for the cogeneration of 1 – 3 kW of electrical power and 8 to 24 kW of thermal power (heating and hot sanitary water purpose) by integration the engine inside a pellet boiler, achieving an overall efficiency of about 0,85 – 0,9.
