    Abstract: NOVELTY - The coating (2b) has a first layer (6), a second layer (8a,8b), and a third layer (10). The first layer is made of molybdenum. The second layer is made up of titanium dioxide and niobium metal. The second layer has sublayers which has different concentrations of niobium in the titanium dioxide. The third layer is made of silicon dioxide.

    USE - Multilayer coating used for coating luminar or tubular material component of solar thermal system (claimed).

    ADVANTAGE - Provides high absorption of solar energy and low thermal emissivity. Thin layer of molybdenum acts as an infrared- reflecting layer, and the layer of silicon dioxide acts as an anti-reflective element to visible light, and are positioned in prescribe order.
