European Researcher's Night 2019

The European Researchers’ Night is an event that takes place each year simultaneously in hundreds of cities in Europe.

The "Researchers' Night 2019" in Trento took place at MUSE – Science Museum and in the surrounding district “Le Albere”, on September 27th from 5:00 pm until late in the evening. The event has been organized by the University of Trento, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Fondazione Edmund Mach and MUSE in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento and under the patronage of the Municipality of Trento.

Researchers from the University of Trento and from the regional research centers presented their project to the citizens, focusing on the most fascinating aspects of their work and inviting the population to get involved. The purpose of the event is to offer to the entire community the opportunity to meet informally the researchers and get in contact with their passion and motivations while understanding the methods they apply and the results obtained.

Fondazione Bruno Kessler participated to the event with numerous stalls, showing the different research streams addressed by the institute. Among these, the ARES research unit working on applied research on energy systems presented its research activities on hydrogen, renewable energies, energy storage and energy systems.

During the night, the researchers of ARES answered to all the questions and doubts raised by people on their research. The citizens proved themselves to be very interested in the approach and expected impacts of the hydrogen and renewable energies, especially regarding the adoption in integrated energy systems in urban infrastructures.

As in th previous edition, the Researcher’s Night 2019 has been a very effective communication and dissemination event. ARES had the opportunity to get in contact with the local community and politiciand and to explain the research projects, their significance and impact at the local, national and international level.
